About this website
I created this website with my blog as a means of updating friends and family across the world without having to repeat myself and freeing myself from the constraints of social media, which all seem to be becoming quite selective on what they share with friends. This is a public diary to an extent, my own little online sanctuary and safe space. The bulk of the content on this website can be found in my blog.
About Me
I am Sy (pronounced Sigh) and have often been referred to as “Sy bear” throughout my life, I also have a tendency to sigh a lot, so “Sighing Bear” worked well for me.
I live in Portsmouth, England, but was born in Wakefield, Yorkshire, with the bulk of my life spent in Battle, East Sussex. Through my childhood I’ve moved around the country and even spent a stint of time in Australia on the Gold Coast.
I often try to label myself and find in doing so I constrain my identity, so I say I’m Queer; this covers me in such a broad way as I am pansexual, I’m polyamorous, and relatively gender fluid compared to most of society. I have hobbies like hiking, backpacking, video games, photography, crafting, music, etc. but these are hobbies and shouldn’t define who I am.
