Like last month the products come out cheaper from Delishly compared to buying the products yourself, factoring in the delivery cost of the Delishly order it comes out slightly higher, however, factoring in the individual delivery costs and bulk buying it would be significantly higher to buy everything individually. Once again it has worked out cheaper to buy from Delishly and as a bonus exposes me to products I’ve never tried before - I haven’t had anything in this box or the previous which ticks my experimenting and exploration box! Well worth the value once again!

Kin + Deum Rice Chips, Sriracha

These were very light and almost fluffy but with a crunch to them which made them very easy to eat while giving them a lovely mouth feel. The flavour was subtle but did build over time and was perhaps a little too heated for my liking.
Lovemore Oat Crunch Cookies

These cookies have a lovely smell to them and a fantastic mouthfeel that is almost chewy like a freshly baked cookie rather than a hard biscuit some cookies feel like. It says on the box that they are crumbly which did have me feeling like it was going to fall to pieces, however it was just the right kind of crumble that didn’t create a huge mess.
There is not a lot of flavour going on in these cookies which taste like a combination of oats and sugar, which is exactly what they advertise so I can’t fault that. This said I wasn’t keen on the flavour as it did taste very dull but I would be interested in trying some more from the Lovemore range as the mouthfeel is great.
Mrs Crimbles Lemon French Madeleines

These disappointed my mouth. There was zero flavour to them, I was expecting some sort of citrus zest to it but there was nothing. Additionally they were extremely dry and required a drink after eating.
I will not be buying these again.
Lama Datekin, Sukkari Dates

These were interesting but nothing special and I think I prefer regular dried dates without anything added. They felt like they had a shell of sugar icing all over them requiring a crunch to break into the date. There was definitely a touch of caramel to the flavouring however, weirdly, there was no date flavour.
These will not be bought again.
Mamamame Tempeh Chips, Sea Salt

These were a shocking delight to eat and I really enjoyed them!
They have a salty sort of popadomy type flavour to them, they’re very crunchy and packed so munch punch in each bite.
It did recommend trying them in a burger… unfortunately the pack didn’t last until the BBQ I did that week. I will be buying more of these though as I could see them being a great addition to a lot of meals as well as something to eat alone. Strong favourite from this month.
Oorg Organic Coconut Rolls, Ginger & Cinnamon

These smell amazingly coconutty with a flavour that compares to the scent. The ginger and cinnamon is rather mild initially so doesn’t take from the coconut but over time does start to become overpowering. I would personally favour more coconut to the flavour though.
Each cylinder is light and full of flakey crunch which gives a lovely consistency while you’re munch. The pack lasted me for quite a while however I could have quite easily have sat with the pack in my lap and munched away.
King Soba Organic Buckwheat Raman

These were very easy to make and didn’t fall apart like some noodles I’ve had in the past, they kept their consistency which was all you can ask for from noodles. I made my first lot with some Itsu Miso which worked really well together.
Although I liked these I’m more of a pasta or rice sort of guy, however these were very quick and easy to put together so I may end up having some in storage for the future.
Pro Fusion Organic Red Lentil Orzo

I cooked these to the recommendations of the package and they were spot on, which you don’t always get. I cooked them alone and didn’t add anything to the dish so that I could really get a feel for what they tasted like.
The red lentil adds an additional flavour to this pasta that is quite nice however I do wonder how that could impact the flavour profile of a dish that normally uses orzo pasta. However I do feel this pasta with the flavour change would work really well with a fish based dish and will give that a go at some point.
Consistency of the product was fine, it cooked really well and wasn’t too hard nor too squidgy which is great. I’ll be using this again in the future but as part of a dish rather than eating alone.
BFree High Protein Pittas

Unfortunately I didn’t get around to taking a photo of these when I ate them, I did however cook some kofta kebabs and use them with the pittas which worked quite well.
However I did find these to be quite dry and hard to actually use, they didn’t puff up so splitting the pitta didn’t work and the pitta itself tended to break when I tried to wrap. I don’t rate these very highly.
Bay’s Kitchen Sweet & Sour Stir In Sauce

I was not expecting much from this stir in sauce but I was very pleasantly surprised by the amount of flavour that was in the sauce without it being too overpowering. Usually with a sweet and sour it tends to go too far one way but this is nicely balanced and didn’t detract from the rest of the food, rather offered a hint of additional flavour.
I have noticed that Bay’s Kitchen do a great selection of stir in sauces and I will be trying those in the future. However, for now, the sweet and sour sauce will be a jar that has a place in my food cupboard going forward, it contributes towards a very quick and easy meal with plenty of flavour.
Final Opinions…
This was my second box from Delishly and another fantastic haul of goodies that I wouldn’t normally try, would have completely ignored, and things I haven’t tried in the past. The box is exposing me to different types of gluten and dairy free products, as well as brands I hadn’t heard of before.
Of this box my favourite thing was the Tempeh Chips which were something else entirely. The combination of Bay’s Kitchen Sweet and Sour Sauce and the Buckwheat Ramen worked really well together too and were a highlight of a meal for me. I’m very curious about the Lovemore stuff and will be picking up some of their stuff in the future, the consistency of the cookies was lovely but some flavour would have been much more to my liking.
I’m very excited to see what August’s box brings. Delishly have teased at what could be in the box next month and it’s already sounding good!
