Rumbullion! is a spiced rum blended from Caribbean rums and infused by warming spices and botanicals. According to websites it has notes of cinnamon, clove, and vanilla.
The package itself gives a great first impression with the designed paper wrapping the glass bottle, secured by string about the neck and coated in wax to secure it all in place. The bottle design is traditional which makes it very easy to pour.
The Tasting
This rum came with a lovely honey and vanilla scent with a touch of citrus in the aroma which was very inviting. Min noted that it reminded them of a Captain Fawcett parfum.
The flavour was just as inviting as the aroma that had filled our senses offering citrus notes to myself, with a thick almost lightly syrup like mouthfeel to it with a very slight heat in the background.
Lovely drink which would very easily be a session rum.
Overall…
This made for a really great rum to drink as a session drink, it also mixes really well with Karma’s Cola and Ginger as it seems to subdue the sweetness of the Karma drinks. It is a great drink, however it’s not quite special enough for the price point in my opinion.
